Fall Transfer Fair
Looking to continue your education beyond LCCC? Don’t miss the Fall Transfer Fair on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CSC Building, Main Campus. This event is open to students, alumni, and the public. Meet with representatives from a variety of colleges and universities who will be available to answer your questions and provide information about transferring to a four-year institution. Whether you’re exploring your options or ready to take the next step, the Transfer Fair is a valuable opportunity to plan for your future!
Microsoft Office Upgrades and License Changes
To ensure that all LCCC faculty members have access to the most secure, compatible, and feature-rich productivity tools, the IT Department will be initiating an upgrade of all campus computers to Microsoft Office 2024. This upgrade will take place on all LCCC-owned academic workstations such as computer labs, laptop carts, instructor stations and library systems beginning December 15 in preparation for the start of the Spring 2026 semester.
What This Means For You:
- If a course requires a specific version of Microsoft Office, please submit a software request as soon as possible to allow us time to evaluate and create an implementation plan.
- No immediate action is required on your part. Our team will manage the upgrade process on academic systems in classrooms.
- We recommend that you save all your work frequently and close any open Office applications before the end of the Fall 2025 semester to ensure a smooth transition. Specific dates and instructions for the upgrade will be communicated closer to the upgrade period.
- The new version of Office will provide enhanced features, improved security, and better integration with other LCCC systems. Additional information and help is available through Microsoft – https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/microsoft-365
- If you’d like to coordinate installation of the new version to review settings prior to December’s roll out, please submit a work order via https://help.lccc.edu and we will coordinate the effort.
Our academic and administrative workstations are primarily running Microsoft Office 2019. Support for this version will conclude in October 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical assistance for Office 2019. Continuing to use unsupported software can pose significant security risks and lead to compatibility issues.
Additionally, changes to Microsoft’s licensing model prevents LCCC from offering local installations of Microsoft Office tools on personal devices of adjunct and part-time faculty. All Microsoft tools and services will still be available via Microsoft 365 in the cloud.
We understand that software changes can sometimes present challenges, and we are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible. Our goal is to provide you with the best tools to support your teaching and research.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this upcoming change, please do not hesitate to contact the IT Support Desk at x1161 or submit a ticket through https://help.lccc.edu. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
The LCCC IT Department

Learning More About Our Students
The Counseling Center has compiled data from the 2024-2025 academic year intake forms and created a 30-minute video for all faculty and staff to learn more about our students’ mental health. The video breaks down demographic data, includes direct student quotes, identifies the top mental health concerns reported by the students, looks at how these top mental health concerns may present themselves in the classroom, and gives tools for faculty and staff to support
students struggling with these concerns and challenges. Please email the Counseling Center at counselingcenter@lccc.edu to receive the video.
We then invite all who have viewed the video to a 30-minute follow-up discussion. Please bring any questions, comments, or insights, and the discussion will be guided by The Counseling Center. The follow-up discussion will be on Wednesday, October 1, at 4 p.m. in the Student Union SGA room in the SSC building, Main Campus. There will be a Zoom option available for those who cannot attend in person. We hope you will join us!

Combat Fraudulent Student Activity
The college continues to face a significant challenge from fraudulent applications and fake student accounts. These bad actors exploit our systems to commit financial aid fraud, identity theft, and other crimes, posing a threat to our resources and the integrity of our institution.
To empower our faculty and staff on the front lines, a new Suspicious Account Activity Form is now available. This online form provides a single, streamlined channel for you to report potential fake students and questionable account behavior directly to the appropriate teams for investigation.
Your vigilance is our most effective tool in identifying these fraudulent accounts. Please use the new form to report students who exhibit patterns such as:
- Zero Engagement: The student is enrolled but never logs into the course shell or shows no academic activity (no clicks, no submissions, no discussion posts).
- Nonsensical Submissions: Discussion posts or assignments are off-topic, incoherent, or appear to be AI-generated.
- Unusual Communication: Emails or messages from the student contain strange grammar, phishing-like links, or focus solely on receiving financial aid refunds without any academic context.
- Information Discrepancies: The student’s name, likeness, or personal information appears inconsistent across different college systems.
- No video or picture: The student is unable or unwilling to turn on video during online classes or shares video or images that appear AI generated.
How to Access the Form:
The Suspicious Account Activity Form can be found on the LCCC Portal under Faculty Staff Resources > Forms. Protecting our college is a shared responsibility. Thank you for your partnership in safeguarding our community and ensuring our resources are dedicated to serving legitimate students.
