Transfer Scholarship Opportunities for LCCC Students

Bucknell University Community College Summer Scholars Program

A select number of high achieving LCCC students will be chosen to participate in a six-week residential program at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA from June–July 2024. Selected students will receive a stipend, room, board, and tuition for two classes taught by Bucknell University faculty. Participating students are expected to return to LCCC to complete their associate degree in 2024-2025.

To hear more about this opportunity, join us for an introduction event. You’ll take a virtual tour of Bucknell’s campus and virtually meet with Bucknell University faculty, admissions, and financial aid to learn more about the Bucknell Community College Scholars Program. You will also meet community college scholars who are now completing their bachelor’s degrees at Bucknell, including several LCCC alumni. Moravian College Community Scholarship

The Moravian College Community Scholarship is a two-year, full-tuition scholarship awarded to one LCCC graduate wishing to continue their education in the fall of 2024 at Moravian College.

To be eligible, you must earn your associate degree by May 2023, have a strong academic record, and demonstrate financial need. Applicants are required to:
• Apply for admission as a Transfer Student to Moravian College
• Complete the Moravian College Community Scholarship Application
• Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA, including Moravian College with school code 003301

Morgan Scholarship Beyond LCCC

This scholarship offers up to $20,000 for Tamaqua High School students and graduates.

Scheller Family Foundation Scholarship

The Roberta and Ernest Scheller Jr. Family Foundation Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund. This scholarship provides aid to deserving Schuylkill County residents who are graduates of LCCC through the John and Dorothy Morgan Center for Higher Learning, and who wish to pursue their education at Kutztown University, Bloomsburg University, East Stroudsburg University, or other institutions that are part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

The Scheller Family Foundation scholarship is “last in” financial aid, and covers only that portion of a qualified awardee’s tuition and fees not covered by federal and state aid, excepting student loans. This award lasts for a maximum of four semesters.

All-USA Academic Team Scholarship

The All-USA Academic Team recognizes high achieving college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. Twenty team members are named annually with each receiving a $5,000 scholarship, for a total of $100,000 in scholarship awards. In addition to scholarships, team members are presented at the annual President’s Breakfast held during the American Association of Community Colleges Annual Convention.

The program is sponsored by Cengage with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa. Nominees to the All-USA Academic Team may also be considered for the Coca-Cola Academic Team, New Century Scholars Programs, and All-State Academic Teams when applicable.

Two LCCC students will be selected to be part of the All-PA Academic Team and will be awarded a 2-year tuition scholarship to any of the PA State System of Higher Education Universities.

The Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation’s top community college students to complete their bachelor’s degrees by transferring to a selective four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $40,000 per year to each of approximately 40 deserving students selected annually, making it the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses—including tuition, living expenses, books, and required fees—for the final two to three years necessary to achieve a bachelor’s degree. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive.

Arcadia University

Arcadia University offers merit-based scholarships to full-time transfer students based on academic performance. Scholarships range from $9,000-$20,000, renewable each year. High-achieving LCCC students graduating with their associates and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for an additional $5,000 partner scholarship under our core-to-core agreement. A $1,500 Phi Theta Kappa award is also available with proof of membership.

Bloomsburg University

Any associate degree graduate of LCCC will qualify for a transfer scholarship to Bloomsburg University as long as the student earned a minimum of 2.50 GPA overall at LCCC. Bloomsburg University will award 4 tiers of transfer scholarships to LCCC graduates:
Tier 1 (3.5 GPA or above at LCCC)–$3,000 annually
Tier 2 (3.0-3.49 GPA at LCCC)–$2,500 annually
Tier 3 (2.75-2.99 GPA at LCCC)–$2,000 annually
Tier 4 (2.5-2.74 GPA at LCCC)–$1,500 annually

Transfer scholarship recipients must remain enrolled full-time for up to 12 credits per academic semester and must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 at Bloomsburg University to remain eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship is renewable for up to three academic years if the criteria above are met.

Cedar Crest College

Awarded to full-time transfer LCCC graduates accepted to Cedar Crest with an AA or AS degree. The Presidential LCCC, Trustee LCCC, and Founders LCCC Scholarships are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Delaware Valley Scholarship

Situated in picturesque Bucks County, Del Val offers transfer students an opportunity to learn as one community through hands-on learning in small classroom settings. The 15:1 faculty to student ratio makes it easy to build relationships with faculty, staff, and fellow students. Through our robust experiential learning program – E360 – students participate in study abroad, research opportunities, internships, and community service. DeSales University

The DeSales Community College Transfer Scholarship for Adult Studies
DSU awards this scholarship to new students entering the Adult Studies program for the 2022-2023 academic year who have earned an A.A., A.S., or A.A.S. degree from a community college. They must be enrolled in a certificate or degree program. Qualified students will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship that is disbursed in $500 increments for the first three courses taken. Students must remain in good academic standing to receive the scholarship and complete the three courses within the academic year awarded.

The Drexel Promise

The Drexel Promise provides local community college students with a pathway to a private education. Available to all students who earn their associate degree at a Pennsylvania or New Jersey regionally accredited community college, this program will provide a renewable scholarship worth 50% of the cost of tuition as they work to complete a bachelor’s degree at Drexel. East Stroudsburg University

Platinum/Gold/Silver Transfer Scholarship Awards:
Platinum Award: $6,000 per year/$3,000 per semester 3.5-4.0 GPA
Gold Award: $4,000 per year/$2,000 per semester  3.0-3.49 GPA
Silver Award: $2,000 per year/$1,000 per semester2.5-2.99 GPA

The Platinum Award may not be combined with other scholarship awards. The Gold and Silver Awards may be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Award, if the student was a member of that organization at LCCC.

Students interested in transferring to ESU from LCCC will automatically be considered for these awards once they apply and are admitted to ESU. Elizabethtown College

Elizabethtown College offers merit scholarships to eligible full-time transfer students ranging from $12,500 to $18,000 per year (22-23 academic year).

Transfer Merit Scholarship Tiers:
$17,500 to $18,000/year: 3.60-4.00 cumulative GPA
$15,000/year: 3.00-3.59 cumulative GPA
$12,500/year: 2.50-2.99 cumulative GPA

Members of Phi Theta Kappa are guaranteed to receive an Etown Excelsior Scholarship ($18,000 per academic year) or Presidential Scholarship ($17,500 per academic year). The College offers an additional $1,000 per year PTK Scholarship to all PTK members. All first-time, full-time transfer students enrolled in the traditional day program are awarded a $500 per year Transfer Book Scholarship.

Franklin University

Franklin University offers 50+ scholarships every semester (merit-based, community service, and external scholarships) that range from $500 to $2,000 (based on hours enrolled). A $2,000 Destination Franklin Scholarship is available if you enroll in the Spring or Summer Semester — see a Franklin University advisor for more details.

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology

Up to twelve (12) scholarships are awarded to recent LCCC graduates with an associate degree. Applicants must apply for all state and federal grants before their respective deadlines. Interviews may be required. International students are not eligible for this scholarship.

Kutztown University

  • The information for Transfer Book Award and Housing Award are the same
  • Our Transfer Merit scholarships are awarded upon acceptance to the university
    • Students with a 3.0 or higher will receive $2,000 a year for up to 3 years ($6,000 total)
    • Students with a 2.5-2.99 will receive $1,000 a year for up to 3 years ($3,000 total)
  • We offer limited PTK scholarships (we award approx.. 8-10 per academic year)
    • Students who are eligible and selected to receive a PTK scholarship from us will be awarded $2,000

La Salle University

All transfer students who submit an application for admission to La Salle are automatically considered for Founder’s Scholarships of $1,000 – $15,000 toward the cost of attendance per academic year. Candidates for these partial-tuition scholarships are selected based on quality of course selection, GPA, the number of transferable credits (as determined by La Salle), and extracurricular activities.

Lebanon Valley College

Lebanon Valley College offers a full-tuition, renewable scholarship for a community college student. The preferred criteria for priority consideration for the scholarship include:

  • Apply to LVC as a residential student for Fall 2023 admission by April 1, 2023
  • Earn AA degree by May 2023
  • Interview on campus by May 15, 2023

Lock Haven

Transfer students are eligible for merit scholarships based on their academic performance. The below scholarship tiers are awarded based on cumulative GPA for students who have at least 12 transferrable credits from a regionally accredited institution. These awards are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA and maintains full time status.

Tier 1: Cumulative GPA 3.5-4.0 : $3,000 per year ($4,000 for non-Pennsylvania resident)
Tier 2: Cumulative GPA 3.0-3.49: $2,000 per year ($3,000 for non-Pennsylvania resident)
Tier 3: Cumulative GPA 2.5-2.99: $1,000 per year ($2,000 for non-Pennsylvania resident)

Moravian College – Community College Fellows Program

Up to ten fellowships from LCCC will be awarded. Fellows will receive an annual renewable fellowship of $10,000 which also includes recognition activities, including dinner with the President once a semester and regular invitations for special events and opportunities for networking.

Community College Fellows will be expected to actively engaged in Moravian’s partnership with the local community colleges by making recruitment visits to local community colleges, writing testimonials about the transition from a community college to a four-year college, and hosting prospective transfer students when they visit campus. Candidates must have a 3.50 grade point average and submit an essay outlining reasons for beginning a four-year degree program of study at a Community College, the reasons why they feel they would be a strong candidate for the fellowship, and a description of both academic and career goals that led them to consider attending Moravian College.

Peirce College Community College Partners Scholarship

The Community College Partners Scholarship awards scholarships of up to $3,000 a year to students who complete their associate degree at LCCC, whose tuition is not covered by other financial means.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Become a Peirce College undergraduate student, enrolled in at least six credits in a term
  • Graduate from LCCC with an associate degree and a cumulative GPA of 2.5, evidenced by an official transcript with a graduation date indicated
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship provides financial support of up to $3,000 for members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society who enroll at Peirce College. Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
  • Enroll at Peirce for the first time as a new student
  • Enroll in at least 6 credits in a term

Penn State Lehigh Valley- STEM and Innovation Program

Penn State Lehigh Valley partners with LCCC to offer a STEM and Project and Supply Chain Management inclusion and innovation program. Students who successfully complete the STEM Inclusion and Innovation program are eligible to receive a scholarship of up to $3,000 to be applied to tuition in their first year at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Slippery Rock University

For students enrolling for fall 2023, non-renewable awards up to $2,000 will be offered beginning immediately for a 3.0 and higher GPA and full-time status applicants. A current year FAFSA most be on file with SRU to qualify. Students must meet need eligibility to qualify for merit awards.  Awards will be made until funds are depleted.  GPA alone does not guarantee a scholarship award.

SRU has modified admission GPA requirements for two of its signature programs: exercise science and sport management. Transfer students are eligible for exercise science with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher instead of a 3.0; sport management applicants are eligible with a 2.25 instead of a 2.5.

Susquehanna University

Tiered scholarships are available based on GPA up to $32,000 per year (plus another $5,000 per year for PTK members).

For IUP applications, there is:

  • No application fee
  • No SAT/ACT required for admission or scholarship consideration

Based on academics, students could be eligible for scholarships ranging from $3,000-$5,000 annually (up to four years). Plus, students living on campus receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. This review is automatic based on the application, and students are notified a few weeks after receiving admission notification.

New transfer students (U.S. citizens and permanent residents only) with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher are considered for academic scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, based on a review of previous college work during the application process. No separate application is required.

Wilmington University

Wilmington University’s Renewable Transfer Scholarship covers every 5th course you take at WilmU, which can reduce the tuition cost of a bachelor’s degree by as much as $4,500. To continue receiving the Scholarship, you must continue at WilmU part- or full-time toward a bachelor’s degree and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
