Crochet 1

This is a 6 week introductory course to basic crochet techniques for the absolute beginner.  During this course learners gain an understanding of basic terminology and techniques.  By the end of the course, learners will complete a scarf and headband

Cyanotypes and Digital Negatives

This is a 6 week course designed for beginners with an interest in photography and art.  Learners will gain hands-on experience understanding the historical significance and process of cyanotype printing.  Learners will create digital negatives suitable for cyanotype printing.

Everyday Lens: Cultivating Mindfulness and Visual Storytelling Through Daily Photography

This 6 week course, aims to encourage beginners to develop a daily photography practice that fosters mindfulness and enhances their ability to tell visual stories. Through daily assignments and creative exploration, learners will learn to see the world through a photographer’s lens.  This course is ideal for aspiring photographers, hobbyists, and anyone looking to incorporate mindfulness into their daily routine. No prior photography experience is required, and participants will benefit from a supportive, creative environment. 

Introduction to Adobe Illustrator

In this 6 week course, learners will be introduced to Adobe Illustrator, the industry-standard software for creating vector graphics. As an aspiring graphic designer, artist, or just someone interested in developing a new skill, you’ll learn the foundational tools and techniques used to create high-quality digital work. Through exercises and hands-on projects, you will gain confidence in using Illustrator’s powerful tools to bring your creative ideas to life on screen. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to create logos, simple illustrations, and designs that you can incorporate into your portfolio or personal projects.

From Hand-Drawn to Vector Art

In this 6 week course, you will learn how to transform your hand-drawn artwork into professional-quality vector designs using Adobe Illustrator. Whether you’re an aspiring illustrator or graphic designer this course will guide you through the process of creating original hand-drawn illustrations and converting them into clean, scalable vector art. You’ll gain skills in both traditional drawing techniques and digital design tools to bring your unique artistic style into the world of digital design.

In this 6 week course, learners looking to try painting for the first time, as well as, those who want to improve on their skills in accuracy and detail without long-term commitment will meet to gain skills in the use of acrylic paint.  Learners will gain an understanding of the basic concepts of blending, mixing, adding values and contrast, underpainting along with, cleaning and maintaining supplies.

Retire with Confidence 

This course will cover the complex world of personal and family financial planning, while touching on economics and geopolitics without bias. This course is aimed to help those who have made or are getting ready to make the transition from the accumulation phase of life to the distribution phase, as well as leaving a legacy.

Embark on a career driving trucks through one of the Commercial Driver’s License training programs at Lehigh Carbon Community College in partnership with Ancora Training.

Gain the knowledge and skills you need through a combination of classroom, driving range, and on-road training. Experienced instructors will help prepare you to take and pass your state’s Commercial Driver’s License test – all in just four weeks!

This beginner course will provide information with minimal technical jargon, broken into components. Learn to manage files, use Windows accessories, customize Windows, and work with Word, Excel and the Internet. Text is included.

Excel Level 1 & 2

Learn the basics then build formulas, use functions and work with charts created from spreadsheets. Through intermediate-user level. Text is included.

Excel Level 1

Start using a spreadsheet, then learn building, editing, modifying and formatting. Text is included.

Excel Level 2

Work with 3D cell reference, create formulas with IF functions, use formulas and perform data analysis using the tools in Excel. Text is included.

Excel Level 3

Work with LOOKUP functions, PivotTables and macros; comments – insert and view. Learn to protect your workbooks and worksheets. Text is included.

Word Level 1

Learn the basics: opening, saving, printing and quitting documents. Design, create, edit and enhance letters and reports. Develop paragraphs, adjust margins, create formatting and utilize text selection. Text is included.

Nurse Aide Training Program

This comprehensive course equips students with the fundamental knowledge and skills essential for providing care to individuals in long-term care settings. Students will learn to deliver personal care, perform basic nursing tasks, assist in basic emergencies, recognize common health indicators, ensure a clean and safe setting, and implement infection control measures. Successful completion qualifies Nurse Aide Trainees to take the Credentia-administered Pennsylvania certification exams, leading to placement on the PA Nurse Aide Registry upon passing. The class is 120 hours, approximately 6 weeks long, 25 classes total.

Course Dates:  

Mandatory Nurse Aide Orientation:
May 29th at 4:30PM OR June 14th at 9:00AM, both sessions will be held at our Schnecksville campus.
Please plan to be there for approximately 2 hours.
Orientation is free of charge, but attendance is required prior to enrolling in any NA course.
Before course registration, all necessary paperwork must be completed and submitted.

Phlebotomy Comprehensive

Phlebotomists are people trained to draw blood from a patient for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. Phlebotomists collect blood by performing venipunctures or for collection of minute quantities of blood, capillary sticks.

Phlebotomists work in hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories, community health centers, blood donor centers, doctors’ offices, and nursing facilities.

Pharmacy Technician Comprehensive

A Pharmacy Technician who works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist can supply medicines to patients whether on prescription or over the counter, assemble medicines for prescriptions, provide information to patients and other healthcare professionals, manage areas of medicines supply such as dispensaries, supervise other pharmacy staff, and produce medicines in hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry.

Pharmacy Technicians can work at retail pharmacies, closed-door pharmacies, hospitals, and nursing facilities.

Medical Office Administrator

Medical Office Administrators are responsible for front office duties, including answering phones, greeting patients, managing health records, diagnosis and procedure coding, maintaining records, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, inventory, and insurance filing and billing.

Medical Office Administrator can work in physicians’ offices, medical clinics, long-term care facilities, hospitals, hospice, and insurance companies.

EKG Technician and CPR Training

EKG Technicians perform diagnostic tests to aid doctors in identifying and treating cardiovascular problems in patients. These tests help detect irregularities that may result in a heart attack or heart disease.

EKG Technicians work in hospitals, cardiologist offices, physicians in private practices, and medical clinics.

Community Health Worker

Community Health Workers act as a liaison between communities and health care agencies. They serve members of the community by helping them to adopt healthy behaviors, such as promoting the health of pregnant women or children, improving nutrition, promoting immunization, or providing education around a specific health issue (i.e. diabetes or HIV/AIDS).

Community Health Workers can work in family services, outpatient care centers, general medical and surgical hospitals, and social advocacy organizations.

Orientation are mandatory and free. Orientations are remote via Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to all who register. Email workforce@lccc.edu to set up an orientation date, time and place. to set up an orientation.

EZ Deitsch 1

This beginner course introduces students to vocabulary, common phrases, and very basic grammar. The course also includes weekly culture lessons which provide students with a better understanding and appreciation of the people and the communities which speak Pennsylvania Dutch.

EZ Deitsch 2

Prerequisite: EZ Deitsch 1 or prior experience Expand your knowledge of Pennsylvania Dutch as you increase your vocabulary, construct more sentences, and improve your horizons to include more conversations and readings. Join others in another rewarding, interaction experience as you study the FUNderful language of Pennsylvania Dutch.

EZ Deitsch 3

Prerequisite: EZ Deitsch 1 or prior experience. Expand your knowledge. Learn more advanced personal pronouns, nouns, and verbs towards sentence structure and write extensive sentences.

Korean 1

Learn the alphabet, grammar, vocabulary, greetings and basic conversation. Korean culture, customs, food and history will all be addressed. Handouts will be provided.

Korean 2

Prerequisite: Korean I. A higher-level Korean class which includes language skills, Korean drama, cooking and cultural Immersion.

EMT Basic

FIRST RESPONDER, EMT AND PARAMEDIC PROGRAMS

Classes offered in Schuylkill Counties in partnership with the LVH

We offer State approved Emergency Responder, Emergency Medical Technician and an intensive Accelerated Emergency Medical Technician course at various times and locations throughout the year including a follow-up Paramedic course for those who have completed the Emergency Medical Technician course and have been working as an EMT.  National Registry EMT credential test is additional cost. Senior citizen discount does not apply.

• Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students under 18 years of age must have parental consent with signed authorization

Failed all 6 attempts: Number and percent of those who fail the exam six times.
Eligible for retest: Number and percent of those who failed their last attempt, but remain eligible for retest (less than six attempts, less than two years from course completion.)

BLS-CPR Healthcare Provider
This American Heart Association course is for health care providers, allied health students, professional rescuers and lifeguards. Course completion card is valid for two years.

CPR/AED Adult and Child – American Safety and Health Institute
This ASHI program teaches properly applied CPR and AED to assist in saving lives
during an emergency situation.

Basic First Aid – American Safety and Health Institute

Learn to recognize the signs, symptoms and solutions to deal with pet accidents and injuries and when to call the vet.

Babysitting First Aid

This ASHI program includes CPR, AED and First Aid specifically designed for children. Ideal for babysitters, daycare providers, school and scout staff, coaches and others serving youth. Certification issued upon successful completion.

Nationally Accredited Paramedic Program through EMI

Requirements:

• Current PA EMT Certification
• At least one year current, active PA EMT experience is preferred
• Anatomy and Physiology are prerequisites. Class are held in the fall for the program that starts in the spring.

Lethal Weapons Training (ACT 235)

For those who carry a lethal weapon during employment. All students must first apply and be approved by the Pa. State Police prior to class. Application process can be found at www.psp.pa.gov/lethalweapons.

VirTra Firearms Simulator
LCCC is offering state-of-the-art firearms training to citizens, law enforcement and security professionals. Participants will train on the VirTra Systems training simulator, a high-definition firearms training simulator where situational awareness, judgmental use-of-force and marksmanship training tests the students with scenarios designed to teach the correct response to real-life circumstances. Students are evaluated on personal skills, de-escalation/verbal commands, use of cover and concealment, marksmanship and important decision making using legal and use of force training principles. All participants will receive a certificate of training and upon completion each student will have the knowledge and skills to

Firearms Decision Making Skills for the Responsible Gun Owner
This challenging course provides real-world situations and experience for the student who really desires learning beyond beginner marksmanship training. Topics covered: safety and fundamentals / federal and Pa. law / use of force and human dynamics scenarios with Glock simunitions gear / full-day shooting at local range.

Private Shooting Range Training
Class will be set up on request of interested groups or students and training is customized to needs. Cost varies.

Recertification Retired Law Enforcement Officer ID Act (LEOSA)

Active Attacker Training
Class set up on request and ideally will be held at requesting parties’ property as the goal is reality-based training. This event is part lecture (what to do and how to do it) and then practical exercises wearing safety gear and using Glock training simunitions equipment (all supplied by the college). Hours and depth of training will vary on individual and organizational request/needs.

Force Science De-escalation Training
Class set up on request. This training event is all lecture and focuses on the skills needed in attempting de-escalation techniques on non-cooperative individuals.

Welding 1

Develop basic skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick) on steel. Required equipment may be purchased at the training site (approximate cost $125.); safety glasses, welding gloves, welding jacket and welding helmet. Class takes place at WTTI (Welder Training and Testing Institute, 729 East Highland St., Allentown).
