The Rothrock Library - a dynamic learning environment that provides opportunities and resources for students to excel in the 21st Century.

The recently renovated library is located on two floors of the former Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Unit along with the Alumni and Foundation Center. Named in memory of Debra Ann Rothrock-Chiaradia, the Rothrock Library was made possible by the generous donation of Bruce Sr. and Velia Rothrock and family. Click here for more information

In support of the research and informational needs of the students, faculty and community at large, the Library's collections include print, electronic and audio-visual resources. These include over 51,000 volumes, 490 current periodical titles, 6,200 audio-visual items and a selection of 40 online databases which provide access to thousands of periodicals, newspapers and additional resources. These materials may be accessed from home and campus at http://www.lccc.edu/library.

In addition, membership in an international consortium of over 42,000 libraries (OCLC) allows us to search and borrow from a combined collection of over 50 million items cataloged in these libraries. These services allow us to widen the scope and amount of research materials available to our users.

Public access computers and a connection to the campus wireless network provide students with ample opportunity to access resources while on campus. Individual study carrels and group study rooms are also available.

The programs, resources, and services of the Rothrock Library are fundamental to the educational mission of the College and to the teaching and learning process. Although the College encourages exploration and self-study, we believe the most important resource available to all Library users is the supportive, knowledgeable, able, and willing members of the library staff, who are there: in person, on the telephone, or online to assist with research and utilization of library resources. In addition, working with the faculty in the classroom and in complementary workshops, the staff provides an active and continuing program of library orientation and instruction in accessing information to help students develop information literacy - the ability to state a need, and then locate, evaluate, and use information in order to become lifelong independent learners.

Distance learners and students at the off-campus location have access to these same resources and services. Additionally, the sites have reference collections and materials complementary to the educational programs at the site. Library staffing is also available, and a courier service delivers requested materials to the location's front desk.

The staff looks forward to helping all students meet their educational goals.
