College and Career Readiness and GED® (General Education Development)
Classes are leveled to meet student learning needs. Instruction is designed to help students improve reading and math skills for the workplace, as well as to pass the Official GED Examination. Students in these programs will explore career paths, job readiness skills, and on-the-job skills for high priority occupations in the Lehigh Valley.
To enroll, complete Allentown GED Student Information Form. If eligible, you will be invited to testing and orientation when the next session begins. Class sessions are offered during the day and in the evening.
Adult Basic Education and Pre GED (Workforce Education and Basic Skills)
Students receive support in basic reading, writing, and math skills using typical workplace contexts. Students will develop long term work and education goals after spending time completing career interest surveys and learning more about different types of jobs. These courses also helps students to prepare for the GED test.
Students gain the skills necessary to successfully pass the Official GED Test through small group tutoring or drop in labs. This service is for high level students who need to review and practice specific subject areas of the GED test: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. The program also helps prepare students for their goals beyond the GED by giving support in transitioning into a career or into post-secondary education or training.
