Idea Pitch Competition
The Idea Pitch Competition is an opportunity for LCCC students, in general, to present their concepts and projects before a panel of judges to receive feedback, and with the possibility to win some cash awards that can be used as initial business capital. The Idea Pitch Competition is subject to specific rules and requirements. The judges follow rules and rubrics to determine the competitor or team with the best business plan.
In this competition, the students participate in a “Shark Tank” – style event. The students may enter the competition as an individual or as a team. Each competitor will have 10-15 minutes to present a business idea in a pre-elaborated Business Plan, before a panel of judges followed by a round of questions and answers.
This event takes place the last Friday during the Spring semester ONLY.
Global Entrepreneurship Week
During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions in 160 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, the initiative is supported by dozens of world leaders and a network of more than 15,000 partner organizations. LCCC through the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub organizes this event to celebrate the relationship between our College members and the entrepreneurial community. Networking, mentoring, cooperation, and support are components for your business success.
Community-Based Outreach Projects
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub students participated in different Community-based Research Projects. The EIH students will receive training in research methods to facilitate other projects. These projects enhance the skills and abilities of our students. Two of the past research projects included Hope & Coffee Café’s of Tamaqua, and The Scherline Group – Downtown Allentown Redevelopment Property.
