Lehigh Carbon Community College

1. Purpose and Scope

This policy establishes guidelines for scheduling and conducting group visits at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC). This policy applies strictly to external organizations, high schools, and middle schools requesting collective visits to the Schnecksville main campus.

2. Group Eligibility and Age Restrictions

  • Eligible Grade Levels: Group visits are limited to high school students and middle school students in the 8th grade and up. We do welcome adult groups from community based organizations.
  • Age Exclusions: Due to high request volumes, LCCC cannot accommodate elementary school groups or younger middle school groups (7th grade and below).
  • Alternative for Younger Groups: Educators looking for outreach for younger students are encouraged to request a Mobile Educator Visit through our Science In Motion (SIM) program.

3. Visit Format and Schedule

All approved group visits are structured as a one-hour experience that includes:

  1. Admissions Presentation
  2. Guided Campus Tour

Available Days and Time Slots
Time slots are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Please refer to the form for days of the week and times.

4. Capacity and Chaperone Rules

Space Limits: Group size is capped at a maximum of 35 people total per time slot (including students and chaperones).

Chaperone Ratios: Visiting groups must maintain a minimum ratio of 1 chaperone for every 10 – 12 students. Chaperones must remain with the students at all times and are responsible for group behavior.

5. Booking and Unaccommodated Requests

  • Request Timeline: Groups must submit a formal request via the online form at least three weeks prior to the desired date.
  • Unaccommodated Requests: If a requested time slot is full or cannot be accommodated, LCCC will notify you. The organization may choose an alternate date for the following semester.
  • Check-In: On the day of the event, groups must arrive 10 minutes early and check in at the Admissions Office in SSC 122 (Student Services Center).

6. Conduct and Safety

  • Campus Expectations: Visitors must respect college property, faculty, and students. Disruption to active academic classes will result in the immediate termination of the tour.
  • Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow instructions from their tour leader and LCCC Public Safety personnel (610-799-1169).
