Summary

In cooperation with the Executive Director of College Relations, the Director of Marketing and Digital Media is responsible for helping to plan and direct the college’s marketing program and ensures that all the elements of a marketing plan work together for maximum benefit. Responsible for writing, editing and assisting in the coordination/production of all college print/digital marketing content and materials including: online marketing landing pages, the college’s website, blogs, e-communications, social media, and related in support of the college’s marketing and communications strategies. Works with team to coordinate marketing outreach for both credit and noncredit programs, Admissions recruitment materials including email campaigns and view book, miscellaneous brochures and fliers. Serves as editor for the online newsletter Aspire. This person will work with faculty, deans, and Admissions staff to identify and develop additional student recruitment materials, for both credit and noncredit programs. Reports to the Executive Director of College Relations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Works with the Executive Director of College Relations to implement the college’s marketing program and media/advertising plans.
  • Provides expertise and guidance on digital advertising strategy and serves as liaison with external ad agency on digital advertising and direction. Proposes annual digital marketing spend and performance metrics.
  • Possesses strong writing skills and provides support for the preparation and dissemination of news releases, as well as content for Aspire online magazine, online and print publications, articles and administrative documents as needed. Serves as a liaison to news reporters in absence of executive director.
  • Assists as needed with the coordination of marketing-related website activities, public relations, marketing, and special events. Assists with content development of the website and coordinated email outreach campaigns for student recruitment.
  • Helps to define branding strategy to elevate the college’s image in the community, including coordinating videography and photography projects that spotlight student and college accomplishments.
  • Ensure continued up-to-date digital technology practices to enhance college communications and recruitment initiatives.
  • Serves as communications liaison to student groups and Student Government Association to promote events, improve student engagement and provide social media updates, in coordination with social media specialist. Attends student club meetings as appropriate, and maintains visible presence to student groups.
  • Serves on Critical Incident Team as a resource member. In absence of executive director, serves as primary communications liaison in the event of an emergency.
  • Coordinates the production of printed and online college marketing materials, including schedules, postcards, tabloids, and other brochures and publications as needed. Works with printers and coordinates budget for printed materials.
  • Supervises two graphic designers and social media specialist, and student workers as needed.
  • Researches and writes monthly LCCC President’s Desk newsletter and manages content and production of the College Voice, an internal biweekly newsletter.
  • Works with LCCC Foundation on marketing initiatives to promote fund-raising events.
  • Edits, researches, and writes articles for Aspire newsletter. Works with designers and freelance writers and manages distribution.
  • Prepares editorial content for a variety of platforms: web, print, digital.
  • Oversees social media strategy with social media specialist.
  • Assists in the development of program-specific materials, including marketing materials and strategy for workforce training, Foundation, college-sponsored events and conferences, speakers, programs, etc. Researches and writes content to promote specific programs and degrees.
  • Assists with marketing events, programs, etc. to the public, including all media as appropriate (paid advertising, news releases, etc.). Assists with public events such as news conferences.
  • Works with Admissions to develop communications plan and appropriate messages for Constituent Relationship Marketing (CRM) program.
  • Works with campus community, faculty coordinators, Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Executive Director of College Relations, to recommend a strategy for addressing marketing needs.
  • Serves as liaison for internal marketing on special projects, such as Commencement, Convocation ceremony, etc.
  • Oversees project management software used for departmental requests.
  • Provides support for all departmental activities.
  • Carries out special projects and assignments as required.

 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution combined with a minimum four years of relevant experience.

Certifications

  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)

Work Experience

  • Minimum four years relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must have excellent writing, proofreading, communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be well-versed with project management software and Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer services and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
