Since 1998, Laura Segatti has taught Early Childhood Education and Education courses and has networked with the community and the Northeast Regional Key in her leadership role in professional development at the college. Ms. Segatti earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood and a master degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University which led to a teaching certificate through the PA Department of Education. She subsequently earned a graduate certificate in Teaching English Language Learners from DeSales University and traveled as part of the North American Study Group to Reggio Emilia, Italy. Ms. Segatti received the LCCC Faculty Excellence Award, the LCCC President’s Convocation Award for Faculty Excellence, the LCCC Thumbs Up Award, the Distinguished Service Award at LCCC, the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Award at Northampton Community College, and is listed in Who’s Who in Pennsylvania Teachers. National and regional conference presentations include those at NAEYC, NACCTEP, ACEI, PA Higher Education Institute, and PA ACCESS Retreat. She has presented dozens of local workshops on the topics of literacy, observation and recording techniques, ELS, curriculum, and planning for infants and toddler programs. Publications in Young Children, Childhood Education, Annual Editions: Early Childhood Education, and ACEI Focus on Teacher Education relate to documentation panels and toddler problem solving materials. Ms. Segatti is a past president of LANAEYC and past secretary for Alliance for Early Childhood Professional Preparation and for ACCESS: American Associate Degree Early Childhood Educators and a member of many professional organizations. She is on the Lehigh County Technical Institute advisory board and on the Northeast Key Regional ECE Professional Development and Planning Committees. In addition to being an adjunct faculty member at Northampton Community College for six years, Ms. Segatti was a teacher, consultant and a director for almost thirty years at a variety of school agencies in the Lehigh Valley.
