Summary
The Systems Analyst I works closely with the end-user community to identify and document business requirements related to enterprise systems. As a member of the Enterprise Applications team, this position provides functional and technical support for Banner and other ancillary applications. Troubleshoots and resolves problems with application functionality. Maintains content within the enterprise applications portfolio. Reports to the Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities, under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director:
- Project Related
- Consults with end-users to identify business requirements & the systems required to support them.
- Documents business requirements & translates those requirements to technical specifications.
- Develops and delivers the solutions necessary to meet the business requirements.
- Support Related
- Collaborates with end-users, members of the IT and Enterprise Applications teams to resolve any issues related to applications within the portfolio.
- Provides functional & technical support for Banner & other enterprise applications.
- Triages incoming work orders assigned to Enterprise Applications and resolves the issue or directs them to the appropriate team member.
- Development Related
- Develops and optimizes SQL queries, scripts, code, and forms to extract, transform, and load data for business reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge and Performance
- Develops expertise in one application within the portfolio and serves as the primary contact for support and maintenance of that application.
- Expands knowledge of portfolio to provide solutions that meet current business requirements through demonstrated training and certifications.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution OR one-year related work experience.
Certifications
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
Work Experience
- General understanding of relational databases and query languages.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
