Work Schedule
Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The standard work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Exempt professionals, are expected to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure all responsibilities and collegiate needs are met, including occasional work outside of core business hours.)

Summary
This position serves as the technical lead for the “back-end” of institutional data. This includes the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data, as well as the specification and definition of dashboards and reports. Coordinates the collection, analysis, validation and submission of data for federal, state and institutional reporting. Develops and delivers reports for faculty, staff and administrators to support decision making. Serves as member of several college committees related to data governance and enterprise reporting. Reports directly to the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads all workflows related to data extraction and transformation.
- Primary point of contact for IT and Registrar regarding data integrity and simple ticketing requests.
- Leads on the reporting and automation of all institutional compliance requirements.
- Coordinates the collection, analysis, validation and submission of data for federal, state and institutional reporting. Develops and delivers reports for faculty, staff and administrators to support decision making.
- Contributes to the college’s accreditation efforts, including the overall Middle State accreditation and any program-specific accreditation standards. This includes maintaining and supporting the periodic review of the evidence inventory to support the standards.
- Coordinates all federal, state and institutional reporting to external agencies.
- Writes informative reports for use by the college’s executive team, faculty and staff.
- Analyzes data and provides executive summary and analysis with recommendations to the college community related to areas such as enrollment, retention and student success.
- Collaborates with academic deans, director and faculty on various assessment studies.
- Utilizes data visualization to help deliver reports that can assist the college with data-informed decision making such as the development of dashboard reports.
- Serves on college committees as assigned. (Assessment Council, Data Governance, and Enterprise IT)
- Manages the development and administration of online surveys using various survey tools.
- Determines appropriate method for retrieving data from college databases and generates reports using various reporting and analytical tools.
- Works with the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness on research projects and data analysis.
- Ensures the IR Website contains relevant and useful content for the college community for decision making and benchmarking.
- Develops systems to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Safeguards confidential and sensitive data.
- Remains current with emerging trends in higher education and provides research recommendations.
- Creates and maintains documentation and an operation and procedures manual.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Statistics or related field from an accredited institution.
Certifications
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
Knowledge, skills and Abilities
- Minimum of three years’ experience in institutional research or other hands-on experience with data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Must be proficient in SQL and at least one statistical programming or data science tool.
- Familiarity with Banner or another Student Information System (SIS).
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Information Science, Social Science, Statistics, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in institutional research or other hands-on experience with data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of Argos.
- Experience in data visualization and creating dashboards.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of institutional research best practices and issues in higher education.
- Knowledge of Ellucian Banner Student Information System or similar SIS.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
