Work Schedule

Monday through Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm). This position may require additional evening and weekend work on occasion.

Salary Ranges

$52,898 - $67,118

Summary:  The Director of Annual Appeals will be responsible for the development, execution and management of all LCCC foundation annual appeals.  This position balances high level strategy and organizational leadership with tactical efforts to create and execute fundraising solicitations. This position requires off site work (donor visits, offsite community meetings, etc.). Reports to the Executive Director, LCCC Foundation.  Must be able to travel to off-campus locations.

This position is contingent upon funding through the LCCC Foundation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties (80% of Time)

  • Develops and executes an annual giving solicitation plan for the fiscal year that includes strategies aimed at donors and prospects (Alumni, Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, Employees and Community Friends).
  • Cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors and prospects through targeted appeals, individual meetings and written appeals.
  • Responsible for the success of the following annual appeals:  Alumni, Cougar, Board of Director, Board of Trustees, EITC and Employees.
  • Manages a portfolio of annual giving prospects.
  • Works with college relations to cultivate alumni, employees and community friends through engagement activities and stewardship events.
  • Follows the foundation stewardship plan and provide feedback as necessary to gradually improve existing donor relations.
  • Follows the foundation engagement plan and provide feedback as necessary to create a robust donor pipeline.
  • Be the point person for the LCCC Foundation Stewardship Committee.
  • By the fifth year of employment, new gift revenue generated by the candidate must match or exceed their annual compensation package.

Other Duties (20% of Time)

  • Chairs the college United Way Campaign and achieve goals as identified.
  • Serves as point person for all LCCC Foundation EITC appeal. 
  • Assists the Executive Director in special events hosted by the foundation.  (Spring event and Fall event).
  • Works with the College Alumni Association.
  • Attends Board of Director and other committee meetings as needed.
  • Meets with other college departments to discuss needs as requested/required.
  • Responsible for the oversight and coaching of the Student Worker of Fundraising Support.

Qualifications Required:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Certifications

  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)

Work Experience

  • Customer service experience in past roles.

  • Evidence of sound leadership, judgement, including tact, diplomacy, discretion, confidentiality, and a strong sense of integrity.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, including flexibility, creativity and a sense of humor.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: leadership, teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer service, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience or more in not for profit fundraising with individuals.
  • Experience in the Moves Management donor engagement process.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to effectively communicate, perceive, and exchange information with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls using hands, arms, or adaptive equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift, transport, or move objects up to 15 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Vision capabilities sufficient to view screens, read printed materials, and observe work environments (with or without assistive devices).

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
