Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment, the Assistant Director supports the recruitment and onboarding of adult, veteran and military students. Responsible for the daily oversight including implementation of the recruitment plan, events and activities. Supervises staff. Some evening hours may be required and must be willing to travel to community/recruitment events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop specific recruitment strategies for adult, veteran and military students
- Collaborate with College Relations to develop marketing plans that include social media, the website, and print materials
- Collaborate and participate in the Veteran Events Committee as well as the Veteran and Military Support Team to include planning and supporting and activities all events planned for this group.
- Coordinate and strengthen existing LCCC services for this student population in credit and non-credit programs
- Collaborate with workforce development and CareerLink to recruit and pursue opportunities for both credit and non-credit programs
- Recruitment and community outreach advocate to promote LCCC programs, services and resources
- Engage employers to identify adult, veteran and military prospective students through marketing campaigns, presentations, and programming events
- Complete surveys such as the Military Friendly Survey that directly support the initiatives of the college promoting awareness, resources, and support to the veteran and military student population
- Utilizes Target X to monitor, track and report data on total applicants, yield rates, transcripts, placement tests, new student orientation and registration status.
- In charge of updating Veteran and Military website, brochures and additional marketing materials.
- Collaborate with the SCO staff in the Registration & Student Records Office for veteran and military applicants that need to access veteran benefits.
- Actively learn/document current veterans’ and military resources and benefits.
- Collaborate with the Financial Aid and the Business Office to assist prospective and applicants with their financial aid and/or financial hold including processing V-Serf applications.
- Conduct annual and mid-year appraisal of staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution.
Certifications
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
Work Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience recruiting in a higher education institution(s).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent presentation skills and experience with outreach programming and activities.
- Prior experience working in a CRM (Target X preferred).
- Familiarity with and commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, and database systems).
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to organize, coordinate, and successfully plan workshops and events to educate faculty and staff on supporting adult learners and veterans.
Preferred
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Supervisory experience

The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
