Summary
This position is based at the main campus in Schnecksville and may require work at other college locations. It will require traveling for admissions events. This position is an integral part of the Admissions team and will participate in a highly customer-service-oriented environment. The position will maximize the utilization of the Salesforce/TargetX recruitment platform, implement the assigned recruitment territories, and fulfill the Admissions Department’s mission and goals. This position recruits students for fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters as well as non-credit programs and works closely with other personnel at other sites. There will be evening and weekend hours—reports directly to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and Prepare
- Reviews, revises, and implements recruitment territories with the supervisor on an annual basis.
- Develops and implements an annual month-to-month recruitment schedule and post schedule in the TargetX/Salesforce Events module.
- Maintains assigned high schools and community-based organizations (CBOs) supplied with college literature and information.
- Creates and develops new student records based on recruitment visits and follows up with leads, prospective, and applicant students regularly.
Implementation
- Serves as initial contact and provides prospective students with information on academic programs and services in TargetX/Salesforce.
- Recruits students from assigned high schools, community-based organizations, and territories, which include personal visits to each high school, appointments with high school students, and presentations to them and their parents.
- Conducts admission interviews for interested students and parents/guardians and provides information on the application process, placement testing, course planner, financial aid, orientation, and registration.
- Ensures that prospective students are scheduled for placement testing and advising appointments and have completed their FAFSA.
- Answers and logs incoming calls and emails about testing, course planner, orientation, registration, programs, and other related areas. Logs incoming calls and emails in TargetX/Salesforce student records to develop a history of communications.
- Coordinates and conducts on-campus tours for potential applicants, including individuals, families, high schools, and community groups.
- Develops relationships with guidance counselors and other appropriate staff at assigned high schools and CBOs.
- Contacts students who have filled out an application, but have yet to register for the following semester, to assist with the registration process.
Assessment
- Utilizes the TargetX/Salesforce’s dashboard and reporting modules to evaluate yield or conversion rates from inquiry, applicant to enrollment stage.
Other Duties
- Develops a relationship with the community by giving presentations/orientation about LCCC to community services agencies.
- Works in a team environment and collaborates with staff for the purposes of meeting enrollment goals.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
Certifications
- Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)
Work Experience:
- Must demonstrate ability to work within a team-oriented environment, possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills, ability to conduct a variety of presentations, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate a keen understanding of practical customer service concepts.
- Must possess the ability to work in a collaborative environment with a diverse population, and have an appreciation for community college educational resources and opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must be able to travel to other off-campus sites, schools, and admission events.
- Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer service, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- College admissions or financial aid experience.
- Bilingual
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
