Summary

Lehigh-Carbon Community College is seeking dedicated and passionate instructors for the Biology part-time/adjunct pool.  This is a face-to-face instructional role primarily at our Schnecksville, PA site but may have openings at our satellite sites.  Instructional opportunities include weekday, daytime, and evening laboratory and lecture courses.

Current Needs

Face-to-face, day-time, weekday lecture and laboratory courses.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver biology instruction at the undergraduate level in both a laboratory and lecture setting.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with course learning objectives.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams.
  • Provide timely entry of grades and constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades in the college provided learning management system.
  • Hold regular office hours and attend adjunct convocation.
  • Collaborate with department staff and faculty to enhance course content and teaching methods.
  • Rigorously adhere to and enforce laboratory safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biology or equivalent experience with at least 18.0 graduate level credits in Biology required.
  • Prior teaching experience and laboratory experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and familiarity with learning management systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

All employees are required to obtain the three mandatory background clearances at their expense prior to their first day of work:

  1. PA Criminal Background
  2. PA Child Abuse History,
  3. FBI Cogent Clearance Fingerprinting (Department of Education).
