LCCC to Offer Job Skills Training in Spring 2016 for Trades Careers

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will provide current, quality skills training in the following areas for individuals wanting to learn a trade. These noncredit classes are offered on a rotational schedule during a semester and will be held at the college’s main campus in Schnecksville or at an off campus location.

Welding I teaches basic skills in Shielded Metal Arch Welding (Stick) on steel and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 26 through March 10.Welding II continues with “out-of-position” instruction and takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 15 through April 28. Both levels of welding classes being offered are held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Welder Training & Testing Institute in Allentown at a cost of $575 each. Students are required to wear proper attire, which includes work boots, straight-leg jeans, long-sleeve shirt, safety glasses, and welding gloves, jacket and helmet. Level II of Water Treatment Plant Operator is being held Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 8 through April 7, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at LCCC’s main campus. Cost is $562.
