LCCC Tamaqua to Host Drug Awareness Event

The Tamaqua campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will host a drug awareness event on Thursday, March 7, in Room 104/105 at the Morgan Center, 234 High Street. Sponsored by LCCC’s Northern Tier Sociology Club, the event is free and open to the public. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Doors open at 6 p.m. Guest speaker Lisa Scheller will share her journey with drug addiction, entitled “It can happen to anyone,” at 6:30 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m. there will be a film showing of “Beautiful Boy.” Scheller, founder and benefactor of Hope & Coffee in Tamaqua, is president and CEO of Silberline Manufacturing Co.
 
The Sociology Club will offer beverages and baked goods for sale; popcorn is free.
