Three Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) students were selected as recipients for this year’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Scholarship, which is funded through the program’s annual Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) conference held in June. The OTA Scholarship was established in 2003 to support Associate in Applied Science Degree students in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
This award is presented to a senior student entering their final semester of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Recipients must have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the OTA courses, and demonstrated a commitment to the profession through: community service, active participation in the professional occupational therapy organization, a passion for practice as a COTA, and be willing to be an ambassador for the LCCC OTA program.
LCCC students Samantha Getz of Allentown, Bethanne Hauser of Lehighton, and Vaydra Tews of Barto, will each be awarded $500 for the spring 2018 semester, to be applied toward the cost of tuition.
