The Early Learning Center (ELC), located on the Schnecksville campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), will hold several celebrations this fall, showcasing the children and what the center has to offer. Preschool children ages 3-5, along with a family member, are invited to spend an hour exploring the Reggio-inspired center and the numerous activities available. Two sessions will be held, one on Thursday, Nov. 9, and another on Thursday, Dec. 7, both from 2 to 3 p.m. The sessions begin and end with simple "Mindful" exercises designed to create self-awareness in young children. Attendance is free, however registration is requested.
In addition, children enrolled at the ELC will celebrate the autumn season with a Harvest Festival at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov., 2. The children will begin the celebration with song and dance in the Community Room in The Fowler Education Center on LCCC's main Schnecksville campus. The families will then head back into the classroom to participate in harvest activities including pumpkin races and making pinecone centerpieces. Outdoors, wagon hay rides will be offered. The children, ages three to five, will come dressed as community workers.
