LCCC Plans Commencement Ceremonies on May 15 at PPL Center

Lehigh Carbon Community College will hold its Commencement ceremonies at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown. More than 900 students from December 2018, May 2019 and August 2019 have earned associate degrees or certificates and are eligible to participate in the ceremony. LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber will preside over the ceremonies.
Chair of the LCCC Board of Trustees Matthew T. Korp will offer the welcome. Featured student speakers will be class of 2019 graduates Veronica J. Rosenberger, who is receiving the associate in arts degree in communications, and James J. Dziedzic, who is receiving the associate in arts degree in criminal justice administration and a certificate in corrections.
Dr. Betsy Swope, associate professor of psychology, will serve as grand marshal, assisted by faculty members Deepika C. Khilnaney, Karen M. Clark, Scott P. Keim, Anne E. Ryan, Joyce S. Thompson and Eric M. Werley.
Class of 2019 graduate Courtney A. Arce, who is receiving the associate in arts degree in general studies, will sing the national anthem and the LCCC alma mater.
One of the highlights of the ceremony will be the announcement of the Student of the Year, which will be presented to an outstanding graduate of the year, selected by the LCCC Faculty Association. In addition, the All-Pennsylvania Academic Team members, Mindy N. Berky, of Topton, who is graduating with a degree in early childhood education, and Kira N. Williams, of Jim Thorpe, who is graduating with a degree in education, will be recognized.
Dr. Thomas W. Meyer, vice president of academic services and student development, will present the candidates for graduation.
