LCCC Offers Training in Health Care Careers for Spring 2019

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) now offers short-term programs to assist students in learning the wide range of career skills required in the healthcare field. Classes are held at LCCC campuses in Allentown and Tamaqua. Free health care information sessions are held to explore the many programs that LCCC offers. Pre-registration is required by calling 610-799-1669. Dates and times are as follows:
  • Jan. 24, March 21 or May 9 at 5 p.m.
  • Feb. 13, April 10 or June 5 at 9 a.m.
A Community Health Worker course will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, March 11 through June 19, from 5:45 to 9:15 p.m. at LCCC’s Tamaqua campus. The course will help prepare students to become a liaison between healthcare agencies and communities, to provide guidance, social assistance, health education, advocacy, referral and follow up services, as well as promote health within the community. Course fee is $1,300. To learn more, health worker orientation sessions are required and will be held on Jan. 30, Feb. 13 and Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. or 4:30 p.m., free of charge.
EKG Technician and CPR Training offers a class on Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 21 through March 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at LCCC’s Donley Center in Allentown. Fee is $1,041 and includes text. Call 610-799-1669 for more information.
Medical Office Administrator Program teaches medical office computer programs, data entry, medical terminology, medical office procedures and professional communications. Class will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Jan. 23 through May 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LCCC’s Donley Center in Allentown. Cost is $1,196; text is included.
Nurse Aide Orientation sessions are offered at no cost to individuals but are required before enrolling in the training program. Orientations are offered at 5 p.m. on January 22 and May 7, or at 1 p.m. on March 19 and June 25, all at LCCC’s Donley Center in Allentown.
