LCCC Offers Noncredit Dance Classes for Spring 2021

published Wednesday, March 24, 2021
Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold a variety of noncredit dance classes this semester. Due to COVID-19 restrictions all classes will be held at the Schnecksville campus.

Two dance classes will be offered for couples only, for a fee of $83 per person. Both recommend a flat shoe or one with low, wide heels. Ballroom Sampler teaches the basics in Fox Trot, Single-Step Swing and Rumba, all from the Big Band era. Class will be held Tuesdays, April 13 through May 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Learn the East and West Coast Swing, Hustle and Country Two-Step in the Social Dance Sampler class, which emphasizes the lead-follow technique. Class runs Tuesdays, May 18 through June 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Learn the fundamentals in a Dance at Your Wedding class. Couples will find it easy to dance while identifying different rhythms in music, a critical aspect of partner dancing. Bring a snack and water bottle. Also, wear shoes with slick soles—no sneakers. Class is held Saturday, April 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a fee of $68 per person.

Please make note that classes may transition to remote at any time due to the guidelines put in place for COVID-19, and participants will be contacted via email or phone.
