Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will offer an adult, English as a Second Language class at Whitehall High School as part of Lehigh County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), which is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. The grant, in the amount of $6,000, provides free tuition to participants.
ESL classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m., starting October 16, 2019. Instruction will focus on communication skills involving speaking, listening, reading and writing. Curriculum content will include skills aligned to workplace and school settings.
Family members of children in the Whitehall-Coplay School District receive priority enrollment, but the class is open to any individual needing English language instruction who resides within the district.  Seats are limited, so interested individuals should contact LCCC today to start the registration process.
