LCCC Offers First Aid Training for Spring 2019

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will offer a variety of first aid classes at the main campus in Schnecksville, Pa.
 
Learn how to properly apply first aid to save lives, recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness and deal with bleeding, shock, burns, fractures and much more. American Health and Safety Institute (AHSI) Basic First Aid will be offered on Monday, March 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. for a fee of $80.
 
People wanting to learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injury and sickness in dogs and cats, treatments for common ailments, and solutions for handling emergencies can take Basic First Aid- Dogs and Cats, a one-time class scheduled for Monday, April 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Fee is $80.
 
AHSI Pediatric First Aid is ideal for daycare providers, school staff, scout leaders, coaches or others who work with youth. It includes CPR, AED and First Aid specifically for children.  Class will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7 and 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Fee is $130.
 
Babysitters wanting to know more about what to do if something happens to a child they are caring for will learn babysitting as a business, safety/injury prevention, leadership, play time, basic caregiving skills and basic first aid. The Babysitting First Aid class is held on Saturday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee is $130.
 
Wilderness First Aid offers training in patient assessment, tissue injuries, splinting and other topics used to save lives and limbs in remote, possibly life-threatening situations. Classes will be set up upon request by phoning 610-799-1574. Class fee is $300.
