LCCC Holds Virtual Commencement Ceremony May 12

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold its 54th annual Commencement Ceremony virtually at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 12. More than 950 students from December 2020, May 2021 and August 2021 have earned associate degrees or certificates. Graduates had the opportunity to participate in the ceremony by submitting photos that will be included in the pre-recorded presentation. LCCC Board of Trustees Chair Ann L. Thompson will offer the welcome to the ceremony. LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber will preside over the ceremony and offer remarks.
The link that allows viewers to watch the ceremony will be available on the home page of the college’s website on Monday, May 10. The broadcast feed will be open at 5:45 p.m., and the virtual ceremony will premiere on YouTube at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 12.  The video will continue to be available for viewing from the college’s YouTube channel.
Featured student speakers will be class of 2021 graduates Jamie L. Knerr, of Slatedale, who is receiving the associate in arts degree in Business Administration and Communication, and Rose K. Reyes, of Bethlehem, who is receiving the associate in applied science degree in Human Resource Management.
Michelle L. Mitchell, associate professor for Disability Support Services/Learning Specialist, will announce the Student of the Year, which will be presented to an outstanding graduate of the year, selected by the LCCC Faculty Association. In addition, she will recognize the All-Pennsylvania Academic Team members Jamie L. Knerr and Ian Miller, of Allentown, who is graduating with a degree in Psychology.
Larissa M. Verta, vice president for academic services and student development, will present the candidates for graduation and will be assisted by the college’s deans. In the absence of walking across a stage to receive their diploma, the names of all student graduates will be included in the presentation. In conclusion, Peggy M. Heim, dean of student support and success, will close with remarks.
