LCCC Helping Students Improve Their English with Summer 2018 Classes

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) is offering courses at all levels to help students improve their English speaking skills. The following English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are held at LCCC’s Donley Center on Hamilton Street in Allentown, Pa. All levels offer a daytime class held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or an evening course from 6 to 9 p.m. The fee for each course is $168.
 
ESL 1 course teaches beginner and low intermediate students. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays on the following dates:
 
July 10 through Aug. 23; Sept. 4 through Oct. 18; and Oct. 30 through Dec. 18 (no class Nov. 22)
 
A second level course, ESL 2, is for high-intermediate to advanced ESL students. The following classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays.
 
July 9 through Aug. 22; Sept. 10 through Oct. 24; and Oct. 29 through Dec. 12
 
A third level course, ESL 3, will be offered for advanced individuals who have successfully completed ESL 2 or who are referred by credit ESL. Sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays on the following dates:
 
July 10 through Aug. 23; Sept. 4 through Oct. 18; and Oct. 30 through Dec. 18 (no class Nov. 22)
 
In addition, individuals can improve speaking for shopping, visiting the doctor, using the telephone or to communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Speaking Skills/ESL will be held Saturday, July 14 through Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a fee of $168. Text is additional.
