published Monday, December 18, 2017
To meet the demand of Lehigh Valley’s growing manufacturing industry, LCCC has added an evening Production Technician certificate course for the Spring 2018 semester.
Students will learn basic skills, common manufacturing terminology and core industry competencies, along with an introduction to mechanical drive components. This class will prepare students for an entry-level position in any manufacturing facility.
This class will be offered through a hybrid method of instruction -- to maximize the student experience, online theory will be assigned to be completed prior to the classroom instruction.
Once completed, the class can be built on through additional technical certificates to help students get to the next level of their manufacturing career.
Course topics include:
• Blueprint Reading
• Electrical Fabrication
• Mechanical Fabrication
• Production Assembly
• Safety Practices and Regulations
• Communication Skills
• Measurement Tools
• Principles of Advanced Manufacturing
• Principles of Tooling
• Intro to Lean Manufacturing
The class will meet from 6 to 7.30 pm. Wednesdays from Jan. 17 through April 25. The class will be limited to 12 students. To register or for more information, contact:
This program is funded in part/in whole by a $10 million U.S. Department of Labor - Employment and Training Administration grant.
