Dr. Ann Bieber, President
Dr. Ann Bieber was appointed the fifth president of Lehigh Carbon Community College on July 10, 2014. Her inauguration was held on October 24, 2014, during her 33rd year of service to LCCC. She served in several leadership positions at LCCC, including: Interim President, Senior Vice President of Administrative Services, Vice President of Administrative Services and Workforce/Community Development and Dean of Continuing Education.
Dr. Bieber is committed to enhancing, improving and fostering the college’s standing as one of the region’s premiere educational institutions resulting in LCCC’s recognition with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hispanic Chamber for its commitment to educate Hispanic students; recognition as one of the best community colleges, ranking third overall in the state; and as a “top 10 community college for instructional technology” by the national Center for Digital Education. LCCC also received recognition as number three in the Top Places to Work in the Lehigh Valley for large employers and continued recognition as a Military Friendly Institution.
She works diligently to enhance student opportunities at LCCC. This includes: increasing scholarship opportunities, investing in campus safety, strengthening the college’s partnerships with military, businesses, nonprofits and educational institutions; and spearheading the development of LCCC’s Strategic Plan: Many Voices, One Vision, which is highly learner-centric and focused on student success.
Dr. Bieber has strengthened the college’s partnerships with military, businesses, nonprofits and educational institutions. Under her leadership, she has created high-value partnerships with business and industry leaders, community organizations and economic development authorities, and led groundbreaking initiatives to help area businesses maintain a skilled workforce.
She serves as a member of the Lehigh Valley Partnership Board, the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, the Manufacturers Resource Center Board of Directors, the DaVinci Science Center Board and Futuros Empresarios Foundation Board. Dr. Bieber has earned several recent awards for her leadership, including the Girls Scouts 2015 Take the Lead Award, Lehigh Valley Business’s 2015 Women of Influence Award, Nike’s 2015 Women’s Leadership Award and the 2015 Number One Leader of large Lehigh Valley employers.
Dr. Bieber earned her bachelor of science degree from Cedar Crest College, her master of public administration from Kutztown University and her doctorate of educational leadership and management from Capella University. A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, she lives in Orefield with her husband, Matt, and together they have two children.
