Funding and WEDnet

The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) was created to make companies across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania more competitive locally, nationally, and internationally by updating and improving the skills of their employees to meet specific company needs.

We are a regional partner for WEDnetPA funding, which means participants are eligible for grants. Visit WEDnetPA’s website to learn more.

Certified Production Technician

A certified production technician (CPT) is an individual who has completed a training program and earned a certification demonstrating proficiency in various aspects of manufacturing and production processes. The certification is typically awarded by organizations or institutions that specialize in workforce development and training for the manufacturing sector.

The specific skills and knowledge covered in a certified production technician program can vary but often include:

  • Safety
  • Quality Practices and Measurement
  • Manufacturing Processes and Production
  • Maintenance Awareness
  • Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement

Health and Safety

Courses cover topics like workplace safety, firearm safety, and classes for security and law enforcement.

Leadership and Professional Skills

Help improve the relationship between managers, team leaders, supervisors, and team members with programs to improve productivity, enhance employee motivation and retention, and develop employee work habits and potential.

Mechatronics

Mechatronics Technicians install, maintain and repair automated machinery and computer controlled mechanical systems in industrial manufacturing settings. They also test, operate or maintain robotic equipment.

Mechatronics technicians work in an environment where multi-discipline talent is required to operate and maintain the plant. Technicians are proficient in electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control knowledge and skills.

LCCC Mechatronics program prepares students with the next generation of skills to work in a computer-driven, data-intensive advanced manufacturing workplace.

Technical Skills and Advanced Manufacturing

Certifications are built on core competencies and standards of excellence geared to meet industry’s qualifications for employment. Instruction combines the blended learning styles of online theory and hands-on instruction on industry-grade equipment with instructors who are experts in the field. Concentrations are available in:

  • Industrial Automation Technician
  • Industrial Mechanical Technician
  • Industrial Electrical Technician
