Parents & Supporting Family Members
We are so pleased that your student has chosen to attend Lehigh Carbon Community College. Did you think this day would ever come? Or maybe it came way too fast. Either way, if you’re like most parents, you’re going through a range of emotions right now, and you probably have a lot of questions. We understand, and we’re here to help you and your new college student navigate their time at LCCC – from the first semester to graduation.
LCCC provides an outstanding educational experience both inside and outside the classroom, and with your help, your student will be successful here. We understand your desire to be there to assist your student, and we understand the crucial role you play in their life. Starting college is a major step for many students as they move into adulthood, and equally as big for you as a parent taking a step back from your daily involvement. We see your role to now be one of support - not doing for them, but helping them to do for themselves. And when they can't figure something out, to know where to ask for help. As a parent, you can support your student by empowering them to make new friends and stay on top of coursework. You can also provide support by directing your student to a variety of college resources when needed and encouraging your student to reach out for assistance.
For more information on assisting your student in the transition to LCCC, we invite you to attend a Virtual Parent and Family Orientation on August 13, 2021 via Zoom.
Welcome to the LCCC family!
