Activities and Events for First Year Students

Making connections with LCCC faculty, staff, and students will make your experience more enjoyable and fun.  Take a look at the upcoming events being offered this semester.
  • Information Fairs and Events
    September 
    At Your Service Information Fair is a service fair where you can learn about and meet staff of different offices and services available to assist you during your time at LCCC. The fair will be offered at all three LCCC locations. Check out the flyer for details.

    October 
    Attend the transfer fair this semester for students, and alumni on Wednesday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CSC building.  Representatives from various colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions about transferring from LCCC to a four-year school. This is a great opportunity for students to begin the next step in their path toward an exciting future! Check out the flyer for more information. 

    November 
    Fall into a job at the LCCC Job Fair on Thursday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CSC building. Students and alumni will be able to speak with over 75 local employers regarding part time, full time and internship positions. Check out the flyer for more details. 
  • I'm First! A space for first generation college students.
    Are you first in your family to go to college? Do either of your parents not have a college degree? If yes, then this space is designed for you. Come for a meet and greet with Jessica Ortiz, Director of FYE, who was first in her family to go to college and earn her degree. 
  • Cougar Success Workshop Series
    Each semester FYE partners with other campus services to offer workshops on a variety of topics that are helpful for first year students. We will be rotating the face-to-face workshops on Wednesdays from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the three different locations: Allentown, Schnecksville and Tamaqua. The workshop will be repeated virtually each Thursday from 4pm-5pm via Zoom. Click the links to see the flyer with more information about each workshop.

  • Drop-in Academic Advising every Wednesday
    All LCCC students are assigned an Academic Advisor in their career pathway. Your Advisor is available by virtual zoom, phone, or face-to-face appointment on Wednesdays to answer questions, discuss career goals, transfer planning, and more. Your Advisor can also help you create an academic plan so that you know what courses you need to take to graduate and when you should take them. You can schedule an advising appointment online or by calling 610-799-1137. 
  • Get Involved!
    Student Life is where life long friendships are built and amazing opportunities are experienced. Check out all of our Clubs and Honor Societies that are available for you to connect with fellow students. The Student Life Canvas Course is updated with all of the events, activites and meetings that are happening at all site locations as well as any virtual programming that will be offered. Check out this course for up-to-date information regarding what's happening at LCCC.
