In 2017, Lehigh Carbon Community College was looking for a new way to encourage more of its students to pursue degrees in the STEM field.

So the college applied for a five-year, $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation, and recently received the news that it was awarded the grant.

LCCC Offers Food Share Program to Students

Almost a quarter of college students across the country suffer from food insecurity, according to a recent study, and Lehigh Carbon Community College is addressing the issue in its own backyard by helping students with a food share program. Campuses in Schnecksville, Allentown, Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe offer individual food items to students to address immediate hunger needs.
