LCCC to Host Annual Teacher Education Seminar Nov. 2, 2019

Lehigh Carbon Community College’s (LCCC) Teacher Education department will host the annual Super Saturday teacher education seminar, featuring The Community Action Poverty Simulation, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Lisa Jane Scheller Community Services Center (CSC), main campus in Schnecksville. The program begins with registration at 7:30 a.m.
Breakout sessions include information on behavior strategies, selecting authentic literature for an inclusive classroom, understanding the Adverse Childhood Experience Study (ACEs), and creating places of belonging in early childhood education classrooms.
Workshops meet Department of Human Services (DHS) and Keystone Stars and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) requirements. Training certificates will be awarded to participants.
There is a $30 nonrefundable fee required before the day of the event, which includes the training sessions, as well as guided tours of the Fowler Education Center with proceeds to benefit the Teacher Education Resource Scholarship Foundation. LCCC students can attend for free (proof of student ID required).
