Google Mail FAQ’s

Google offers a very extensive online help desk. In addition to the information below, you can utilize the Google Online Help to answer all of your questions while staying logged into your email account.

How do I access my Google Mail account? Can I login to my email outside of the myLCCC portal?

Simply click on the “Check mail” icon in the launch pad on the left hand side of the screen. Please note: students must access email from inside of the myLCCC portal. You cannot access this account from a link or URL.

How do I send an email?

To compose an email, click on the ‘compose mail’ link located in the upper left of your email window.

How do I add an attachment?

If you would like to add an attachment to your email, click on the “add an attachment” link located just below the subject box. A new window will open. Highlight the file and click open or you can simply double click the file you wish to attach. You will see the attached file just below the subject line.

Is there a limit to the size of an attachment?

File size is limited to 20MB.

Can I have my mail sent to my Smartphone?

Support for Mobile devices is not available at this time. You can use your phone’s browser to log into the myLCCCportal and check your mail.

My mail is acting strange!

If you are having problems with your email (sending, receiving, locking up, or general strange behavior) please try clearing your cache. If clearing your cache does not resolve the issue, please fill out the web form (link to form) and tell us about the problem.

I get an error message?

If you are getting an error message, please make sure all fields are properly filled out and that your mail does not exceed 20MB. If all fields are populated and file size is under 20MB, try clearing your cache. If clearing your cache does not resolve the issue, please fill out the web form (link to form) and tell us about the problem.

How do I add contacts in my email?

To create a contact:

1. Click Contacts along the left side of any page.

2. Click the New Contact button in the top-left corner of the Contact Manager.

3. Enter your contact's information in the appropriate fields.4. Click Save to add your contact.

My contacts don’t load!

If you are having a problem with your contacts loading, try using a different browser. Internet Explorer sometimes has problems loading the contacts page.

I didn’t receive an email I know was sent.

If you have not received an email you are sure was sent, please check your spam folder. If you do not find it there, contact the sender and verify it was sent to the correct email address. If you still did not receive the email and the sender did not receive a bounce back message, please fill out the web form and we will be happy to assist you

Someone trying to send me an email got a bounce back error.

If someone attempted to send you an email and they received an undeliverable error message, please verify that they are sending it to the correct email address and that the email is not over 20MB total. If you are still unable to receive the email, please fill out the web form (link to form) and tell us about the problem.
