This 210-hour short-term job training program will allow students to gain introductory knowledge of the human and social services profession. The course emphasizes principles of human services and the delivery of services to the community. The student will become familiar with computer applications, case management, listening skills, advocacy, professional roles, ethics, confidentiality, problem solving and communication skills, as well as resume writing and interview techniques. Nurse Aide Diploma with English as a Second Language (ESL)Componant

Nurse Aide Training with ESL Component is an intensive program developed to prepare the student to take the Pennsylvania State Certification exam in English and begin a career as a nurse aide. The initial component of this course is specially designed for clients whose first language is not English. The course will emphasize communication (verbal and written), listening skills, and speaking clearly. Writing and additional vocabulary development will also be taught as part of the ESL component.
