Pantano Health Sciences and Technology Scholarship

Amount: Three $1,500 scholarships


  • Second year LCCC student
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA minimum (transcript required)
  • 21+ years old
  • American born or naturalized American citizen (sorry, foreign students not eligible)
  • Currently employed part time at least 6 hours/week
  • Registered for the spring semester at LCCC

Must be enrolled in one of the following courses of study:

  • Health Information Technology (HIT)
  • Medical Assistant Program (MED)
  • Any Nursing Program
  • OTA (OTA)
  • PTA (PTA)
  • Biology (BIOS)
  • Biotechnology (BIT)
  • Chemistry (CHMS)
  • Chemical Technology (CHT)
  • Engineering (EGRS)
  • Environmental Sciences (ENVS)
  • Mathematics (MATS)
  • Natural Sciences (NSLS)
  • Physics (PHYS)
  • ANY Technology degree major

Robert G. Koehler Scholarship

The Robert G. Koehler Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of a talented young man.  Robert G. Koehler was a 1976 graduate of William Allen High School.  He held an Associate in Applied Science degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College.  He had a promising career with Pennsylvania Power & Light as an electrical draftsman and was an avid sports fan.  

Robert was killed in an automobile accident in February, 1992, at the age of 33 years old.  Mr. Koehler’s parents contributed the scholarship endowment to help other studetns attain the educational opportunity that Robert enjoyed at the college.

Amount: One $500 scholarship awarded annually

  • Requirements:
  • Major in Mechanical Technology or Drafting and Design


  • Awarded scholarship credited directly to student’s account

National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM Scholarships 

Amount: Scholarships will be based on unmet financial need, with the maximum scholarship capped at $5,000 per year ($2,500 per semester) until a terminal degree is attained or up to 4 consecutive semesters, (grants for more than four semesters or additional degrees may be available with committee approval).


  • Be a U.S. citizen, national, refugee alien or permanent resident alien;
  • Be enrolled full-time (registered for a minimum of 12 credits each semester) in one of the following associate degree programs:
    • Biology                                               
    • Biotechnology                                              
    • Chemistry                                          
    • Chemical Technology
    • Computer Forensics and Security

  • Demonstrate academic potential or ability through:
  • Scores on the SAT, ACT, PSSA, or LCCC’s COMPASS test for new students entering the PASS program
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale for current LCCC students entering the PASS program
  • GPA of 2.8 or greater by the end of the first semester in the PASS program and 3.0 or greater by the end of the second semester and throughout the second year in the PASS program to maintain eligibility


  • Eligible until a terminal degree is attained or up to 4 consecutive semesters
  • (Grants for more than four semesters or additional degrees may be available with committee approval)

How to apply


  • Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at Be sure to follow the online instructions for obtaining a PIN number for you, or your parent, to sign the electronic application.
  • Submit a short essay (no more than one page) on your reasons for choosing your desired area of study with a description of your educational and career goals.
  • The completed STEM application and Data Form and Essay can be submitted directly to Mr. John Loughman (place in his mailbox in the Mail Room in SSC5) by the applicable deadline.



  • June 1 for fall semester or December 1 for spring semester
