About the John and Dorothy Morgan Center for Higher Learning:The newly constructed John & Dorothy Morgan Center for Higher Education hosted classes for the first time in Fall 2003. This 38,000 sq. ft. site provides students in this region with a convenient, close-to-home option for affordable, high-quality education. The Schuylkill Site in Tamaqua offers a variety of degrees and programs, including Biotechnology A.A.S., Business Management A.A.S., Computer Science A.S., Liberal Arts A.A., Criminal Justice A.A., Human Services A.A.S., Nursing A.A.S., and Practical Nursing Certificate.
- Learning Center
The Learning Resource Center is located on the first floor of the Morgan Center in Room 117. The student copier is located in the lobby at a cost of $0.10 per page. There are drink and vending machines located in the student lounge.
- South Ward Neighborhood Committee
The Elm Street program, administered by DCED, is designed to help revitalize older and historic neighborhoods that are within walking distance of the downtown. The South Ward includes a portion of the community's primary highways, Routes 209 and 309, as well as Lehigh Carbon Community College's new Morgan Center and the Tamaqua Area Middle and High Schools.
