LCCC's ELC Hosts a Reading by Rita Perez on April 15, 2014
Lehigh Carbon Community College hosts a reading by Rita Perez, Pennsylvania Department of Education Deputy Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education on behalf of Pennsylvania’s One Book, Every Child Program on Tuesday, April 15 at 11 a.m. in the Early Learning Center of LCCC Main Campus’ Fowler Education Center.
Perez will read the program’s selected title, Stripes of All Types, written and illustrated by Susan Stockdale, a story that explores how animals around the world benefit from their stripes.
Pennsylvania’s One Book, Every Child Program supports early literacy efforts for more than 545,000 children throughout the commonwealth. The program is based on studies observing increased literacy among preschool children when they are engaged in activities such as discussing a book's cover and illustrations, the action in the book, favorite parts, and engage in play associated with the book.
