LCCC Holds Welcome Week for Fall Semester Students Beginning August 25, 2014

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold activities for new and returning students as the academic year begins Aug. 25. Faculty and staff volunteers will join in the merriment on main campus in the mall area outdoors or in the Student Union building in case of inclement weather as they welcome students. In addition, a wellness fair with spinal scans, blood pressure screening, DI statistics, yoga and therapy dogs will be held Aug. 26 & 27 in Berrier Hall

 

On Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 25 and 26, from 10-2 p.m., there will be balloon sculptures, quoits, a prize wheel to spin, a raffle by Phi Theta Kappa for an exclusive parking space, NerdHerd t-shirts, and remote broadcasting from WXLV. Also on Tuesday, a Caribbean Trio performance by “Ewabo” will take place from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. There will be free hot dogs from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Aug. 27 & 28 as well.

 

Students can get photos on the “Big Red Chair”, an inflatable 10-foot chair, on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 27 & 28, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. as they play quoits, spin the prize wheel, enter the parking space raffle and much more. At 2 p.m. on Aug. 27, international motivational and leadership guru, Jullien Gordon, will focus on maximizing the college experience while providing the tools needed to get it all done and how to set goals and eliminate all-nighters. At 6 p.m., Jullien will discuss information on minimizing student loans.
