LCCC and Shine Program Join Sen. Yudichak, Kovatch In Feb. 27, 2014 Unveiling of Dui Checkpoint Vehicle, Constructed by Students
– Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and students from the LCCC/SHINE Career Academy After-School Program host a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the construction of a DUI checkpoint vehicle at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Kovatch Inspection Center on Route 54, Nesquehoning. State Senator John Yudichak and John Kovatch, of Kovatch, Inc., will assist with “cutting.”
The event unveils the SHINE STEM Career Project vehicle, a proud project partnership between LCCC, Kovatch Incorporated, Carbon Career & Technical Institute, Carbon County DUI Task Force and local school districts.
Event speakers include welcoming remarks from LCCC interim president Dr. Ann Bieber, and comments from Kovatch, Inc. president, John Kovatch, and State Senator John Yudichak.
CCTI liaison, Rachel Strucko; Lehighton middle school student, Paige Shellhammer; and Kovatch engineer, Adam Graves, will also be on-hand for the ceremony.
