ESL (English as a Second Language)

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

LCCC is pleased to serve the immigrant, refugee, and international communities by offering two programs to learn English as an additional language, credit and non-credit ESL courses. Each program is designed to help you develop English language skills to prepare you for life, college, and career goals for  students.

The mission of the ESL Program exemplifies the LCCC college mission and vision to promote academic excellence, student achievement, and support of diverse populations based on student-centered values by delivering high quality academic English courses and holistic support to non-native speakers.

Students in the ESL program help provide a diverse and global perspective to the campus experience while achieving academic, career & personal goals.

CREDIT ESL PROGRAM

The ESL Program at LCCC provides credit courses in academic English to students who wish to pursue the language skills necessary to be successful in college and career. ESL Courses allow students to study at intermediate through advanced levels and even earn credit for electives and college writing.

Students can take a full or part-time schedule in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Daytime courses are offered at main campus, while daytime and evening courses are offered at the Donley Center in Center City Allentown.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (students on an F-1 visa) interested in applying to LCCC for either English or a degree can get more information on the international admissions page.

NONCREDIT ESL PROGRAM

The Noncredit ESL program offers many classes from beginning to low advanced levels at the Donley Center in Allentown. These classes give students the basic English language skills that they need to be successful workers, citizens, and family members. Students who complete the noncredit pathway may choose to go on to credit courses for college, job training, or to enter the workforce.

Courses begin every 9 weeks. Click here for a schedule of free classes and fee-based classes.
