Studentsare eligible for additional support through a variety of grant funded programs if they meet the financial and programmatic guidelines. These services may include the following:
  • Additional academic counseling
  • Study skills seminars
  • College skills workshops
  • Personal and social growth counseling
  • A structured environment to encourage learning
  • Registration advisement

ACT 101-Success Through Education Program (STEP)
ACT101 is supported by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Higher Education Equal Opportunity Program and was established in 1976 to supplement the services offered by the Counseling Center and Educational Support Services. ACT 101 (STEP) participants are chosen on the basis of academic potential, motivation, and aspirations. Services include academic counseling and advice on course selection, study skills workshops, personal and social growth counseling and a summer orientation program. Both economic and academic eligibility criteria must be met before a student is eligible for this program. For more information, call 610-799-1153.

TRIO-Student Support Services Program
The TRIO/Student Support Services Program, funded by a grant from the U.S.Department of Education, promotes success in college, career, and life. Its goal is to increase retention and graduation rates of program participants by enabling students to reach their full educational potential. To accomplish this goal, the program centers upon support services, such as tutoring, personal, academic, and career counseling, assistance in obtaining financial aid, registration advisement, and services to students with disabilities. Participants must be U.S.citizens or nationals who meet the residency requirements for financial aid, have been accepted by the college, and demonstrate academic need. The grant is designed to serve first-generation college students, students with disabilities, or students with demonstrated financial need. Vocational Education Support Services
Students enrolled in Career/Technical Education programs and certain transfer programs (Computer Science A.S., Mechanical Engineering Technology A.S., Graphic Design A.A., Criminal Justice Administration A.A., Business Administration A.A., and Communication A.A.) are eligible for special academic services and career counseling. Academic services include study skills workshops, tutoring, and one-on-one academic counseling sessions. Career Counseling includes services in the areas of job search skills, employmen-related correspondence, including cover letters and resumes, goal setting, and stress management.
