To assist qualified degree-seeking students with meeting the cost of education, Lehigh Carbon Community College administers various federal, state and institutional financial aid funds. Grants, which do not require repayment, as well as loans and student employment programs, are available through the Office of Financial Aid. Financial aid is intended to supplement the financial resources of the student and the student's family.

CashCourse® provides financial education resources for colleges. It’s online, it’s free, it’s noncommercial, and it’s brought to you by The National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) – the only nonprofit foundation dedicated to improving the well-being of all Americans.
To be eligible for financial aid, the student must:
In order to qualify for financial aid, The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed online by logging on to www.fafsa.ed.gov. New applicants applying online must apply for a federal PIN number. The Pin number allows the applicant to sign their FAFSA form electronically on the web. (parents of dependent students should also apply for a PIN number).
If you already have a PIN you can use it to sign your FAFSA from one year to the next.
If you have not previously received a PIN, you have several options to apply for a PIN and have it delivered to you.
1. Access Federal Student Aid's PIN Web site at www.pin.ed.gov and select Apply For A PIN. You may select one of the following PIN delivery methods:
2. Apply for a PIN while filling out the FAFSA. You may select one of the following PIN delivery methods:
Important Note: A PIN that is selected or viewed instantly online or is sent to you in an e-mail is considered to be conditional until your information is verified with the Social Security Administration (1-3 days from the date you first apply). You may sign your FAFSA with it but nothing else. Once we complete this verification, you will be able to use your PIN for other purposes (such as correcting your SAR or accessing other Federal Student Aid Web sites). At the time your PIN becomes permanent; we will apply your electronic signature to your FAFSA and process it.
Additional Resources for FAFSA
Students should have the 2010-2011 FAFSA completed by May 1 for attendance during the Fall 2010, Spring 2011, and Summer 2011 terms, by November 1 for attendance during the 2011 Spring term, and by March 1 for attendance during the Summer 2011 term to assure funding is in place before the beginning of the semester. Students must reapply each year for financial assistance.
Students will receive the results of the FAFSA in the form of a Student Aid Report. The Student Aid Report is a recap of the information submitted on the original FAFSA form. Read the comments found on page 1 of the Student Aid Report carefully. If your application has been selected for verification, it will be noted on Page 1 of the Student Aid Report.
Students who are randomly selected for verification by the federal processor are required to provide the previous calendar year's income tax forms, all schedules, and W-2 forms along with a verification form to the Office of Financial Aid before awards can be finalized.
All awards are determined and finalized by the Office of Financial Aid. Award offers may be viewed by logging onto the student's personal Banner Web account and will indicate what fund types have been awarded and in what amount. Student should be aware that student employment awards are not deducted from the tuition bill. The student will receive a paycheck for the hours worked after the submission of time sheets. All other forms of financial aid will appear as credit on the student's invoice. Students must accept all loan offers on their Banner Web accounts in order for the loan to be processed and disbursed.
