What is KEYS?
KEYS is a program of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW). It has been designed to provide an opportunity and the corresponding support for Pennsylvania Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients to pursue a degree or credit-bearing certificate at a Community College in Pennsylvania.
KEYS has been developed in response to growing research that demonstrates that TANF clients, who earn a certificate or degree, are better able to get jobs with family-sustaining wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
Who is eligible for KEYS?
TANF cash assistance clients in Pennsylvania, who enroll in a Pennsylvania Community College, may be eligible to participate in the KEYS program.
What services are available?
The KEYS student facilitator at LCCC provides direct support to KEYS students through the development of education plans and the referral to appropriate college resources and/or community agencies. Additional services available to students include the following:

How to enroll in KEYS:
If you are currently enrolled at LCCC in a degree program or credit-bearing certificate and are receiving TANF, contact the KEYS student facilitator in Room SH 150 or at 610-799-1156 or contact your caseworker at your County Assistance Office.
If you are receiving TANF and are not currently enrolled at LCCC, but would like to learn more about KEYS, contact your caseworker at the County Assistance Office for more information.
