About Careers on the Move

Lehigh Carbon Community College and Luzerne County Community College were recently awarded, as partners, a three year, $1.7 million dollar U.S. Department of Labor grant to Strengthen workforce skills in the Logistics and Transportation and Advanced Manufacturing industries in our region. The grant and its programs are called "Careers on the Move".

Pipeline talent, skills upgrade, and career exploration for youth are the focus areas for Careers on the Move.

Careers on the Move has linked with local Workforce Investment Boards, CareerLinks, and Industry Partnerships in a 13- county region to learn what skills are required. Programs and assessments were expressly designed in response to employer input.

What does "Careers on the Move" mean to employers in the Logistics and Transportation and Advanced Manufacturing industries in our region?

Extremely low-cost training for :

  • Forklift operators
  • Warehouse workers
  • CDL Class A drivers (Funds Exhausted)
  • Diesel mechanics
  • Industrial Maintenance technicians/mechanics

Very affordable classes for their employees at Lehigh Carbon Community College and Luzerne County Community College in:

  • Business
  • Logistics
  • Manufacturing technology
  • Many others
