The Lehigh Carbon Community College Lady Cougars defeated Community College of Beaver County on Saturday, May 8, by scores of 3-2, 6-3 to win the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association State Softball Championship.

This is the first time LCCC has won the state title, and softball is only the second team sport to win a state championship for LCCC. Women's Volleyball won the state title in 1992, and 2000.

The state championship caps off an incredible season for the Lady Cougars, under first-year coach Keri Weaver. The team posted a 19-2 season record and won the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference.
