Athletics
Head Coach: Scott Cooperman -(1st year)
Coach Cooperman earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History and an Elementary and Secondary Teacher Certification at Muhlenberg College (1986). He was a member of the baseball and football teams while at Muhlenberg College. Coach Cooperman has been coaching baseball for the past 24 years; Allen High School Assistant Coach (1986-1995), Allen High School Head Baseball Coach (1996-1999), Youth League, Junior Legion, Connie Mack, Lehigh Valley Keystone State Junior Division, Lehigh Valley Gators (12-15 and Under) Fall Tournament Baseball Teams and Senior Legion Head Baseball Coach (1987-2008).
In addition to his coaching positions, Coach Cooperman has been the baseball commissioner at South Parkland Youth Association (2003-present), Camp Director for Midwest Baseball Academy (2005-present), and has held numerous youth coaching clinics in the Lehigh Valley for the past ten years.
Currently, Coach Cooperman is the Director of Athletics at William Allen High School and Co-Manager of J. Birney Crum Stadium. He resides in Orefield with his wife, Jennifer, and their three sons, Casey, Tyler, and Chad.
Assistant Coach: Scott Matejicka – played 4 years of baseball while attending Whitehall High School. He both caught and played 1B and provided much of the offensive punch in the middle of the line-up. While there, the team won its first District 11 4A title in 25 years. He graduated as the all time home run and RBI leader. Scott then played four years at DeSales University. His accomplishment include three first team all-league honors, two Mid-Atlantic All-Region team selections, 2 Conference Championships and holds the all time doubles record along with numerous top 5 all-time offensive statistics including hits, RBI’s, Slugging %, and runs. Coach Matejicka earned a Bachelors degree in Sport Management while attending DeSales University. To go along with coaching, Scott is a hitting/infield instructor at the Hitters Edge.
