Judy Brown-DuPaul earned a M.S. in Human Development, Counseling, and Family Studies (concentration: Child Development) from the University of Rhode Island and a B.S. in Human Development and Family Relations (concentration: Preschool Programs) from the University of Connecticut. She took additional graduate courses at Lehigh University in early intervention and multicultural issues in education. Since 1999, Ms. Brown-DuPaul has taught as adjunct/part-time faculty at Lehigh Carbon Community College where she received the Adjunct Faculty of the Year award. She previously taught college for over eighteen years at University of Rhode Island, Becker College, Quinsigamond Community College, and Northampton Community College. In addition to being the director of two college preschool laboratories, she taught young children and supervised student teachers in private child care centers in three states. Ms. Brown-DuPaul was the project director for Project Set Sail, a U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs federal grant for early childhood education/early intervention majors. She participated on the Project REACH grant team, was a mentor for Project FLAGSHIP, and worked as an inclusion coach and contract observer for Unconditional Child Care. Ms. Brown-DuPaul has presented at national and regional conferences for NAEYC, NACCTEP, PA Early Childhood Summit, CEC, ACEI, PA CEC, Temple University Faculty Conference on Teaching Excellence, NAEYC’s National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development, New England Kindergarten Conference, New England AEYC, and New England Educational Research Association. Topics include documentation panels, family conferences, observation and recording techniques, math and science curriculum, and mentoring. Ms. Brown-DuPaul has published articles in Community College Journal of Research and Practice, Young Children, Childhood Education, Annual Editions: Early Childhood Education, ACEI Focus on Teacher Education, and numerous professional organizations’ online journals and newsletters.
