Professor of 30 years and Coordinator of Teacher Education, Melanie Wursta leads the department, teaches Early Childhood Education courses and supervises interns in their capstone course. While administiring more than $3 million in federal grants through the U.S. Department of Education, Melanie also served on local community education boards, won local and national awards and presented at local and national conferences. Wursta is available for trainings, workshops, conference, consultations and webinars in the topics of environment as the third teacher, Pinterest, the LCCC Teacher Education Model, the Reggio approach, effective communication, professional leadership, program organization administration, and curriculum planning.

As the LCCC Teacher Education Making Teaching and Learning Transparent Specialist, Carly Simon creates the content of the LCCC Teacher Education social media outlets and facilitates their iPad "Start Here, Go Anywhere" mobile cart grant. An education and behavioral consultant, she also served as a language and play specialist for Temple University, ran the Barnes & Noble children's book department for ten years and is currently launching a nonprofit creative reuse center in the Lehigh Valley, The Tinker Factory. Carly is a PA Keys PQAs affiliate instructor who is available for trainings, workshops, webinars and consultations on language and literacy, play, technology (social media and iPads), responsive environments and curriculum, recycling in education, STEM, Reggio inspired environment and curriculum, loose parts, executive functioning and self-regulation.

Judy Brown-DuPaul has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations with a concentration in Preschool Programs and Child Development. Prior to teaching at Lehigh Carbon Community College, she taught Early Childhood Education at four other colleges and taught toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers at private and non-profit child care centers. She has her PQAS certification and presents workshops related to family communication, observation techniques, math and science curriculum, environments, and behavior.

With over thirty five years of experience in the field of early education, Laura has an earned associates, bachelor's and master degree in Education. She has experience working with various types of agencies and students ages from Birth to college level students. Her presentations include research based information, hands-on experiences and supporting handouts to support the practitioner in their classroom.
