Expectations and Vision for the College
Vision for the College:
- The committee and the task force will have credibility with the college community in terms of representation and diversity of thought.
- The process will be as inclusive as possible to ensure that input is open and welcoming to anyone who wishes to contribute to the development of the strategic directions into the colleges strategic plan and goals.
- Communications are essential for college-wide debate and discussion on the critical issues and determination of goals.
- Recommendations set forth in the Self Study for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education will be reviewed and discussed.
- The Strategic Plan will be linked to the Vision, Mission and Value Statement.
- The 2007 Facilities Assessment Plan and Campus Master Plan will serve as guides for resource allocation and planning.
Vision for the College:
- The College will be stronger academically and fiscally sound.
- LCCC students will have higher expectations and place greater value on the quality of the Colleges programs and services.
- The College will champion continuous quality improvement and effective stewardship of limited resources.
- The College culture will be centered on creating and fostering an environment that is focused on achievement of learning for all students and enhances successful attainment of educational goals.
- There will be key programs or attributes of excellence that will distinguish the college from other institutions of higher learning.
- Employers will place a premium on the Colleges graduates of academic or work force training programs.
- Partnerships, particularly with other institutions of higher education and employers/industry, will create new opportunities to advance the institutional goals.
- Campus life will be enhanced with more opportunities for extracurricular activities, on-campus services, and civic engagement.
- Various modalities of delivery programs and services will be available to students, taking advantage of new technologies and demands of a more diverse student population.
- A larger percentage of operating revenues will be derived from the alternative sources of income and non-sponsor students.
- Critical soft skills and entrepreneurism will be integrated into the academic programs.
- The Colleges utilization of schools will advance institutional goals and enhance the value of the academic experience.
- The College will be the primary higher education partner for sponsor school districts with greater integration of College programs and services.
